🧾 Role Summary:

Starsight Energy is seeking an accomplished Head of Sales (Financial Institutions) to lead its commercial efforts within Nigeria’s financial sector. As a member of the executive committee (EXCO), this individual will be responsible for driving strategic partnerships, expanding client portfolios, and delivering renewable energy solutions to key financial institutions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in sales leadership, renewable energy, and financial services.


Key Responsibilities:

🛒 Sales & Business Development:

  • Serve as a member of the Executive Committee (EXCO), aligning FI sales strategies with broader company goals.

  • Design and implement innovative sales strategies to drive high-value business opportunities.

  • Manage the FI sales pipeline, ensuring consistent deal closures that surpass revenue and profitability targets.

  • Cultivate strong client relationships, especially at C-suite level, to position Starsight as the preferred renewable energy partner.

  • Proactively handle client escalations, contract negotiations, and resolve payment issues.

  • Deliver market intelligence to guide strategic decisions and highlight opportunities and risks.

🏛️ Internal Procedures:

  • Lead the customer onboarding and KYC process, ensuring alignment with corporate policy.

  • Assess the reputation and suitability of clients in the FI space.

  • Identify areas for sales process improvement to enhance efficiency and results.

👥 Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead and develop the FI sales team, setting clear KPIs, driving performance, and fostering a high-performance culture.

  • Provide strategic direction, manage team morale, and oversee training and performance management.

  • Collaborate across functions to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.

  • Act as a brand ambassador in client meetings, industry events, and strategic engagements.

⚠️ Risk Management:

  • Identify and escalate major risks, develop action plans, and ensure continuous risk monitoring and mitigation.


🎓 Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent certifications preferred.

  • 12–15 years’ experience in sales and business development, with 7+ years in the renewable energy sector.

  • Experience in the financial services industry, leading large commercial deals.

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Strong knowledge of sales systems, CRM tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and work cross-functionally.

  • Skilled in team leadership, performance management, and cross-departmental collaboration.
