Job Purpose
The Financial Assurance Analyst has the hands-on responsibility to interrogate end-to-end processes and data for the purpose of identifying, providing, and implementing corrective action that drives improved revenue and cost outcomes for the business.
Key Accountabilities
- Data Analysis & Insights: Analyse revenue and cost data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential areas of revenue loss or leakage, including fraud, and identify cost efficiencies. Conduct deep dives using Excel to create data sets for in-depth analysis.
- Fraud Prevention & Compliance: Develop and implement strategies to detect and prevent fraudulent activities that could result in revenue loss. Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, pricing structures, and revenue recognition policies to safeguard against revenue leakage.
- Process Review & Optimisation: Review billing processes and systems to identify errors, discrepancies, or inefficiencies that could impact revenue recognition. Identify opportunities to streamline revenue processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen controls to mitigate risks associated with revenue operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Develop cross-functional relationships with departments such as finance, sales, operations, security, legal, and IT to address revenue-related issues collaboratively.
- Training & Stakeholder Communication: Assist with training and awareness programmes to educate employees on revenue protection policies, procedures, and best practices. Report and present significant findings from deep analytical work to key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment across the organisation.
Skills & Experience
- Supply chain, operational improvement, finance, or accounting degree (or similar tertiary qualification).
- Business change, improvement, and turnaround.
- Proven ability in financial, data and insights analysis, problem solving, and business advisory/improvement.
- Ability to analyse large and complex data sets, identify patterns, trends, and anomalies, and draw meaningful insights to detect revenue leakage and fraud.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools and systems used for revenue analysis, data management, and reporting (e.g., Excel, SQL, data visualisation tools).
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity.
- Good writing and presentational skills.
