Maria 01 has grown to be one of the most relevant startup ecosystem players in the Nordic region. Located in a beautiful old hospital in central Helsinki, Maria 01 houses over 180 startups, 25 venture capital funds, and other ecosystem supporters, with around 1500 international individual members working full-time on tech and startups.
Maria 01 is an international community, awarded the Internationalization Price by The President of the Republic of Finland in 2021. Maria 01 operates as a community-driven, not-for-profit organization co-owned by the Startup Foundation, Helsinki Enterprise Agency and the City of Helsinki.
We are currently on the lookout for a highly motivated and experienced Marketing & Communications Manager to join our team on a temporary 1-year contract, covering for a maternity leave. Position Overview
As our Marketing & Communications Manager, you will play an important role in executing our marketing operations and ensuring that our marketing actions support our business objectives. This role involves direct management of marketing partnerships, content production across multiple channels, and rigorous measurement of marketing efficiency to ensure alignment with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement marketing strategies that support the company’s business objectives, as defined by company leadership.
- Be a key player in the two-person marketing team, producing engaging content across various channels (blog posts, press releases, videos etc.) to drive brand awareness and customer engagement
- Oversee and direct marketing partnerships, including collaborations with agency partners to enhance our market presence.
- Interact with the Finnish and international media and cultivate the relationships with them. This includes pitching stories, responding to media inquiries, and arranging interviews to generate positive coverage for Maria 01.
- Analyze and measure the efficiency of marketing actions, making data-driven adjustments to strategies as necessary.
- Demonstrate a hands-on, doer attitude with a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining a positive outlook throughout.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in B2C or B2B marketing, specifically in a digital environment, with a proven track record of success.
- Growth mindset with a hands-on, doer approach to tasks and challenges.
- Strong self-starter, capable of leading their own work and initiatives without continuous oversight.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to master and manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Positive attitude, with a commitment to creating and maintaining a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Fluent in Finnish and English, both written and spoken. Additional language proficiency is a plus.
