Chevening is the UK government’s international scholarship program. Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office and partner organizations, we offer awards to study in the UK for one year on a fully funded master’s degree course.

Chevening Scholarship Details
The Chevening Scholarship is an international scholarship funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office that lets international students with leadership qualities study at universities in the United Kingdom.
All Chevening Applicants need to demonstrate leadership, influencing, and relationship-building skills. You’ll also need to understand how studying at a UK university clearly will help you achieve your career goals.
These scholarships are fully-funded (flights, accommodation, and course fees are all included), and you are free to focus on achieving your professional goals and maximizing the experience of a lifetime.
You will live and study in the UK for a year, during which time you will develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.
On completing your studies, you will leave the UK equipped with the knowledge and networks necessary to bring your own ideas to life.
Chevening scholarships are designed to cover the full cost of studying for a Masters’s degree in the UK, including any additional expenses you may incur as an international student.
You will typically receive Full payment of Masters tuition fees, up to £18,000. The monthly stipend will depend on whether you are studying inside or outside London. It is currently £917 per month outside London and £1134 per month inside London (subject to annual review).
Eligibility For The Chevening Scholarship
To be eligible for a Chevening Fellowship, you must:
- Be a citizen of a fellowship-eligible country or territory.
- Demonstrate the potential to rise to a position of leadership and influence.
- Demonstrate the personal, intellectual, and interpersonal attributes reflecting this potential.
- Return to your country of citizenship at the end of the fellowship period.
- Have a postgraduate level qualification (or equivalent professional training or experience in a relevant area) at the time of application.
- Meet all program-specific fellowship eligibility requirements.
- Not hold British or dual British citizenship.
- Not have received UK Government scholarship funding (including Chevening) within the last five years.
How To Apply
Chevening accepts both the IELTS Academic and IELTS Academic for UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) with a minimum overall score of 6.5 and a minimum score for each component of 5.5. All Chevening applicants must submit their education documents, references, and one unconditional UK university offer.
