About The Company.
Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. The Castle has recently undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment program bringing back to life the regal grandeur of its past.
Located 20 minutes’ drive from Bristol, it offers 27 rooms and suites, an award-winning restaurant, a bar and two unique meeting and conference spaces.
Their modern British food style uses the best locally sourced produce from our kitchen garden and the southwest.
They operate seven days a week, serving breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner, Sunday lunch, and the occasional wedding and function.
Responsibilities.
- Greet guests, take orders and serve food and drinks.
- Answer all queries about the menu, including drinks and make suggestions.
- Take ownership of guests’ requirements and food allergies.
- Follow Health and Safety and Food Safety procedures.
- Set up the dining areas and process charges and payments.
- Effectively communicate with managers and all colleagues.
- Experience with handling guest queries and complaints.
- Natural passion and flair for the industry and food.
- A calm, mature approach.
- Ambition to succeed at the highest levels.
- Dedicated team player with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised using own initiative when needed.
- Willing to learn new things.
Requirements.
- Proficient in English.
Benefits.
- £10.50 per hour, depending on experience.
- This role can be offered as a Part-time or a Full-time permanent position – 24 – 40 hours per week.
- Worked over 3 or 5 days, mainly breakfast and weekend availability.
- Shifts between 7 am – 5 pm.
- An additional share of the service charge and tips of about £400 every two months.
- 28-day holiday including bank holidays.
