Job Description.
Virgin Media is looking for a Delivery Manager with Mobile apps experience to join the Technology pillar in Digital and be a part of the new exciting, Change operating model. You’ll be accountable for coordinating and aligning Digital Technology initiatives, which deliver across both product and programme-led activity across the change operating model and beyond. You’ll need to be hands-on and goal-oriented with proven experience across both agile and more traditional delivery environments.
Responsibilities.
- Able to simply explain complex problems and switch between technical conversation and high-level “storytelling’’ depending on who you’re speaking to.
- Technical background is welcome but not necessary (a basic understanding of engineering concepts may help deal with some in-pillar stakeholders, i.e. DevOps and develops cycle).
- Knowledge and curiosity for agile and lean practices. Choosing the methodology that fits what we need to do, not trying to retrofit the problem into a tool.
- Able to turn concepts into an understood plan and able to ‘’sell’’ ideas to senior stakeholders.
- Not afraid to challenge the status quo for what you believe will be in our best interest; able to future-proof ideas to make sure they’re not only for short-term gain but also long-term benefit.
Requirements.
- Experience working in a mobile app environment.
- Able to showcase examples where you have communicated concepts and ideas to various contributors and senior directors in a fast-paced product-led tech business.
- The ability to structure program delivery within a framework that augments the financial and operational goals of the team, using your strong commercial acumen.
- Experience in both product and delivery within a technology company.
- Proven delivery of software releases, supplier integrations and complex projects.
- Confident in using programme management tools and techniques appropriate for the situation, partnered with dynamism and flexibility to achieve the right outcomes.
