About The Role
Our Client based in New York is seeking an experienced animator to collaborate on a long-term personal project titled “Animated Short.” The project requires bringing a character and storyline to life in a rough, graffiti-style animation similar to the Spider Punk Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse aesthetic. The animator will work closely with the writer and producer to bring their vision to life through the creation of captivating and visually striking animations.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualise and develop the character design and visual style based on the provided storyline and direction from the writer and producer.
- Create rough sketches, storyboards, and animatics to establish the overall look and feel of the animated short.
- Produce high-quality 2D or 3D animations in a graffiti-style aesthetic, staying true to the project’s vision and theme.
- Collaborate closely with the writer and producer throughout the animation process, ensuring the final product meets their creative expectations.
- Maintain a consistent visual style and continuity throughout the animated short.
- Meet project deadlines and manage the animation workflow efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience in creating professional-quality animations, preferably in a graffiti or urban art style.
- Strong understanding of animation principles, techniques, and software (e.g., Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, Blender, Maya).
- Exceptional artistic skills, including character design, storyboarding, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while adhering to project deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with the writer and producer.
