Job Description
- The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the growth of the microfinance bank through strategic planning, client acquisition, product development, and partnership management.
- The role involves identifying market opportunities, expanding the bank’s customer base, increasing revenue, and enhancing the bank’s presence in the target communities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Growth:
- Develop and execute strategies to attract and retain customers, especially micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
- Identify new markets, products, and services to drive expansion and profitability.
- Lead the planning and execution of outreach programs, financial literacy campaigns, and branch activation efforts.
Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management:
- Oversee customer prospecting, onboarding, and engagement activities.
- Manage key customer relationships and ensure excellent service delivery.
- Analyze customer feedback and market trends to improve products and services.
Product Development:
- Work with internal teams to design and promote financial products tailored to the needs of low-income earners, small traders, and SMEs.
- Ensure all products are compliant with CBN microfinance guidelines and are commercially viable.
Sales & Marketing:
- Set and monitor sales targets for branches and field teams.
- Develop marketing strategies, promotional plans, and campaigns to increase visibility and customer uptake.
- Track and analyze performance metrics to optimize sales activities.
Partnership Development:
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with cooperatives, NGOs, fintechs, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance outreach.
- Represent the bank in industry events and forums to foster collaboration and brand recognition.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly business development reports to management.
- Ensure that all activities comply with the bank’s internal policies and regulatory requirements from the CBN.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or account management.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and managing client accounts.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
Salary
N300,000 / Month.
