About The School

Parramatta Marist High School is a Catholic school with a history and tradition spanning over 200 years. Since 1875, it has been shaped by the Marist charism, which flows from an essential trust in God and a desire to follow Christ in Mary’s way.

Our pedagogy is based on Project/Problem-Based Learning and Flipped Classroom, which are taught through a collaborative approach in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) and Team Teaching.

Applications are invited for a skilled, contemporary, and passionate Business Studies and Economics Teacher to be part of our school community and enrich the lives of our students. Applicants may also be required to teach junior HSIE (e.g., Commerce)

.Teachers within the Diocese are responsible to the Principal and share in the learning and teaching of subject matters to students of the school community.

Teachers are responsible for delivering high-quality, contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve, which is embedded in the Catholic worldview. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelizing mission of the Church.

Key focus areas

The Secondary Business Studies/Economics teacher will fit the following criteria:

1. Extensive pedagogical knowledge base and understanding of how HSIE is learned, what affects students’ opportunities to learn in Business Studies and how the learning and teaching of Business Studies can be enhanced.
2. An understanding of our pedagogy being based around Project/Problem Based Learning and Flipped Classroom.
3. Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater to students’ needs to maximize student learning.
4. Sound understanding of the learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback.
5. Commitment to the continual improvement of their teaching practice and taking opportunities for personal and professional development.
6. Work creatively and constructively within a range of ‘communities’ inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.
7. Able to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning

This position involves working with children.
