We are building an integrated payments platform that connects businesses and consumers across 40+ African countries. Our platform supports over 100 payment providers, 200 local payment methods, and 40 currencies.
Job Summary:
We’re looking for a Compliance Officer to take the lead on all compliance-related responsibilities in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced fintech or startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee onboarding of partners, merchants, and end users

Develop and manage KYC / KYB / CIP / EDD onboarding workflows

Monitor transactions for AML/CFT/CPF, sanctions, and policy violations

File SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports) and manage operational SLAs

Conduct ongoing due diligence and re-certification of existing users

Ensure data privacy compliance and framework for cross-border data flows

Support the Chief Compliance Officer with KPI development and reporting

Continuously improve internal compliance tools and workflows

Triage and investigate high-risk cases, escalate as necessary
Requirements:

7+ years of experience in Compliance Risk Management (payments or financial services)

Strong understanding of FATF guidelines, local and cross-border compliance

Hands-on experience with AML/CFT monitoring and sanctions screening

CAMS, CFE, or other recognized compliance certifications (or working towards one)

High integrity, attention to detail, and excellent judgment

Fluency in English and strong communication skills

Startup/fast-scaling environment experience is a plus
