The Role

As the Lead DevOps Engineer you’ll spearhead a small, dynamic team, focusing on improving developer and tester productivity through innovative tools and automations. You will play a crucial role in implementing infrastructure for their highly available SaaS product, a critical tool in their users’ daily operations. Your responsibilities include setting up advanced observability tools and managing a diverse range of monitoring metrics to create a scalable, highly automated business environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Leadership and management of a small DevOps team.
  • Overseeing Azure infrastructure, optimising for cost and performance.
  • Initiating and implementing projects aiming to improve developer and QA productivity.
  • Defining and setting up metrics for system performance and uptime monitoring.
  • Managing DRI and on-call team schedules.
  • Enhancing end-to-end monitoring of our SaaS platform.
  • Overseeing implementation of monitoring to ensure effective use of observability tools.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in a team or technical lead role.
  • At least 5 years as an Azure Engineer or similar.
  • Advanced proficiency in Azure services (certification preferred).
  • Expertise in web services, API, REST, and RPC.
  • In-depth knowledge of containerisation (e.g. Docker) and orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes).
  • Strong background in security (Authorisation, Authentication, OWASP, etc.).
  • Solid networking knowledge (protocols, subnetting, routing).
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Experience with Microsoft’s .NET stack.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
