DepartmentC is seeking a Digital Content Producer to develop engaging content for a science-oriented client.
This role will be responsible for producing social media content, short articles, infographics, and other digital products (including social videos). We are seeking candidates with strong interpersonal skills who can help “translate” complex scientific concepts to non-experts. This involves nurturing a project from pitch to production to posting. Deliverables must be on time and in compliance with the client’s style guidelines.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, detail-oriented, and highly engaged in identifying important milestones, events, and announcements around which content to create. We are looking for a team member who can build strong relationships with our client’s stakeholders and own the digital product portfolio.

Responsibilities
- Work with communications team to implement digital aspects of overall communications strategy
- Create products that speak to a full spectrum of audiences
- Compile analytics reports on digital products and campaigns, and identify trends and best practices to steer future communications
- Stay current on social media trends and make recommendations for evolving content strategies
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Support event planning
- Other responsibilities may include website copy, briefing materials, and executive leadership presentations
Requirements
- Three to five years’ experience in communications, marketing, or digital roles
- Strong knowledge of social media channels
- Experience in managing social media platforms (primarily X and Facebook)
- Experience with social analytics
- Excellent time management skills
- Creative writing skills
- Strong critical thinking abilities
- Ability to collaborate while staying focused on digital portfolio
- Familiarity with AP style
- Examples of previous campaigns or creative products
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and graphic design tools such as InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Ability to create visual content (short videos, graphics, etc)
- This position requires U.S. citizenship
- Hybrid position – office location is in Washington, D.C., with a requirement of 3 days per week in-office, with flexibility for remote work two days per week
