ABB Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure is seeking an experienced engineer to join our Product Group as a Global Product Quality Specialist in charge of product quality performance and reliability. In this role, you will be mainly engaged in verifying the performance and compliance of the product for electrical vehicle charging to requirements and specifications. You will also apply inspection techniques, measurements, and tests and drive corrective actions to improve product performance.

You will act with safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity to assure that products meet stated requirements. This role is based in San Giovanni Valdarno plant. This position reports to Quality Control Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and organize a failure analysis team.
• Conduct field data analysis, troubleshooting, and test procedure as assigned to perform failure analysis and identify the root cause.
• Work closely with the global product quality manager to finalize root causes and corrective actions.
• Support customer quality on failure analysis reporting.
• Utilize safety systems to perform work, resulting in an accident-free workplace. Notify others when unsafe situations are observed and work with local safety teams to improve the safety systems.

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Electrotechnical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 3-5+ years of professional experience in a similar role. Experienced in reading schematics for circuit designs.
• Knowledge of manufacturing electrical, electronic, and electrotechnical systems.
• Strong analytical skills, familiar with work approaching failure analysis methods.
• Experience working with data-driven analytical methodologies for industrial quality applications – wildly Statistical Process Control [SPC], Lean Six Sigma, Process Capability (Cp, CpK), and/or Process Performance (Pp, Ppc) Analysis.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal groups (this may be necessary to discuss defects, changes, and influence decisions).
• Good communication skills (written & verbal) in English.
