Job Overview:

Wema Bank Plc is hiring an experienced and strategic Head of Software Quality Assurance (QA) to lead the QA team in delivering secure, high-performance banking applications that support its digital transformation agenda. This leader will establish robust testing standards and practices across all platforms, ensuring compliance and consistent quality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the QA team to deliver high-quality, secure, and reliable digital and core banking applications.

  • Define and implement an enterprise-wide software QA framework, ensuring alignment with banking and industry standards.

  • Create and monitor test strategies, KPIs, plans, and test automation frameworks.

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Development, DevOps, and InfoSec teams for seamless quality ownership.

  • Oversee all testing phases – UAT, SIT, regression, performance, and security.

  • Promote test automation and CI/CD pipelines within Agile/DevOps workflows.

  • Ensure compliance with CBN, NDPR, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and other regulatory guidelines.

  • Manage relationships with third-party testing vendors and partners.

  • Provide regular reports to executive stakeholders, highlighting quality metrics, risks, and areas for improvement.


Requirements:

  • Education: BSc or HND in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master’s or professional certifications like ISTQB, CSTE, PMP, Agile, etc., are added advantages).

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 8 years in Software Quality Assurance.

    • At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial QA role.

  • Skills & Expertise:

    • In-depth knowledge of banking systems, APIs, mobile and web platforms.

    • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, Postman).

    • Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.

    • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
