GEMS Al Barsha National School is seeking an experienced Lab Assistant to join their Science Department immediately.

Responsibilities

• Organize, prepare and manage all science experiments and practicals under the guidance of the Head of the Department
• The overall maintenance of Design Technology labs and organization of experiments
• It is maintained and updates the register of Lab equipment.
• It is maintained and updates the register of chemicals and other consumables.
• Prepare Lab experiments and practicals in coordination with the Head of the Department and Teachers.
• Responsible for keeping the labs organized and clean in coordination with the Head of the Department and Teachers.
• Report breakage/damage of equipment to the Head of Department.
• Responsible for safety procedures in the Labs in coordination with other members of the department
• Prepare an annual list of consumables, glassware, and equipment in conjunction with the Head of the Department.
• Ensure Labs are locked when not in use.
• Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are always followed.
• Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers/supervisors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or related subject
• Skills:
• Good interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with staff and students
• Attention to detail, organization, and a team player

Experience Minimum of one year’s experience in a similar position
