Job Summary:

International Logistics is seeking an experienced Legal Superintendent to provide expert legal support, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage contract risk across operations. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a strong background in commercial law and contract negotiation, especially within regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management:

  • Review and interpret client agreements and related documents

  • Maintain a database of all legal contracts and obligations

  • Identify inconsistencies and propose legal amendments

  • Support departments with legal advice and contract interpretation

Compliance & Regulation:

  • Monitor laws and ensure company compliance with all statutory requirements

  • Prepare compliance documents in line with ISO 9001:2015 QMS standards

  • Conduct regular anti-bribery and anti-corruption reviews

  • Submit mandatory legal and compliance reports

  • Maintain and update legal risk registers

General Legal Support:

  • Advise management on legal risks and recommend strategies

  • Support internal teams with training, policies, and procedures

  • Assist in regulatory inspections, audits, and investigations

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • LL.B. (Hons) – Second Class Upper minimum from a reputable university

  • Barrister-at-Law (BL) qualification required

  • Valid NYSC certificate

  • At least 10 years post-call legal experience

  • Experience with a leading law firm in commercial or infrastructure law

  • Strong contract negotiation and documentation skills

  • Bonus: Experience in oil & gas, free zones, or highly regulated industries

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong ethics, attention to detail, leadership, and communication skills

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, compliance, and quality management best practices

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to relocate or reliably commute to Lagos

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
