🧾 Job Summary:
The Network Engineer will support core IP network operations, client connectivity, infrastructure development, and ensure network security. This is an entry-level role ideal for individuals with foundational knowledge and a passion for network systems.
🔧 Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Participate in IP network operations and infrastructure security planning.

Support design and implementation of core/client networks.
-
Secure and monitor IP devices.
-
Troubleshoot network issues and analyze performance.
-
Coordinate with regional IP registries.
-
Maintain documentation of all network changes.
-
Execute additional tasks assigned by the line manager.
📚 Education & Certifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Communications, Network, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent).

IP Network Certifications (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
🛠️ Required Skills & Experience:
-
Minimum 1 year experience in IP Network/System Support.

Knowledge of TCP/IP, routers, firewalls (Cisco, Juniper), switches, VLANs, VPNs, BGP4, EIGRP, OSPF, and Spanning Tree.

Familiarity with Unix/Linux, scripting, IDS, QoS, and streaming protocols.

Understanding of last-mile solutions (DSL, microwave, fibre).

Strong English communication skills.

Willingness to support work outside regular hours.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work within a team.
🌟 Desirable Extras:

ISP experience managing large IP networks.
-
Familiarity with AfriNIC, APNIC, or RIPE.

Knowledge of structured cabling and VoIP.
