IES Österåker is looking for an enthusiastic school nurse to join our team. This is your opportunity to work in an international environment at a multicultural school together with a dedicated and innovative teaching staff who create the best education for our students. IES Österåker will open in August 2025 in a newly built school for students from preschool to grade 7. The school will be bi-parallel and offer bilingual education to its 600 students. The first year the school will consist of F-7 and then reach its full capacity in 2026. The school is located in central Åkersberga close to the Roslagsbanan. Nearby there are also lakes, forests and the archipelago. The area of Roslagen has great cultural wealth and history. We are looking for a licensed school nurse who, together with other employees in our interprofessional student health team (Student Health Care Team, SHCT), wants to be involved and ensure the health promotion work at the school. Working in our school means being part of a professional community and collaboration. Our SHCT includes special teachers, a school nurse, a school psychologist, and a counselor. SHCT’s work is led by the deputy rector. IES has a central student health with coordinators for the various professions in the combined student health who work for good and equal student health with a strong focus on health promotion and preventive efforts. The position includes customary tasks for school nurse work such as includes health talks, open reception, doctor’s office, vaccinations and preventive health work. We are looking for – Specialist nurse with specialist training in children and young people or district nurse or school nurse according to the school nurse program – A great interest in health promotion and preventive efforts – Commitment and a genuine interest in working with children and young people – Good ability to collaborate and can take own initiative – Previous experience as a school nurse or similar work is meritorious Salary according to agreement, collective agreement available.
