Description
You should have a track record of channel development and creating strategic partnerships but also the business mindset to create new monetization opportunities. You are also data driven and capable of performing market research and market sizing in order to identify the right B2B partners and which verticals SmartThings should enter next. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of SmartThings’ product offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth and market expansion in multiple markets
- Identify and prioritize target markets, industries, and key accounts for business development efforts.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to generate leads and opportunities.
- Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and qualification to proposal development, negotiation, and closure.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and other teams to ensure alignment of business development efforts with company objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform business development strategies and decision-making.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance visibility and promote our brand.
- Provide regular reporting and analysis of business development activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics to management.
- Coordinate business initiatives across internal teams, executive stakeholders, and business units to establish shared vision and achieve buy-in
- Effectively collaborate with Samsung Korea and Samsung’s regional subsidiaries to promote cross-selling of products and services and deliver maximum value to the company

- 5+ years of business development, sales, or partnership management experience
- 3+ years of experience partnering closely with engineering and product teams with global stakeholders in a global, matrixed organization
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to travel regularly (~25%)
- Ability to evaluate, develop, and quantify business opportunities and effectively present recommendations to internal leadership
- Natural leadership skills, with the ability to influence people across any job function
- Technical proficiency to work closely with both technical and non-technical team members
- Contract execution experience
- Strong desire and ability to add to our culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Strong interest in the Internet of Things and smart home products
- Manage complex and dynamic relationships with partners
- Experience building and scaling a successful startup; an entrepreneurial spirit
- Prior international work experience
- Past work experience and strong relationships in the Builder, Vacation Rentals or Property Management space
- Experience selling directly to single-family builders in North America
