Job Description

Due to organic growth, my client is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our Trading Systems. The candidate will closely collaborate with various trading desks to fulfil their execution needs, emphasising the front-to-back OTC trading workflow of equities and credit and our strategic signal-based execution framework.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the SPM and trading group members in a transparent environment, engaging with the whole investment process
• Partner closely with Quantitative Researchers and Quantitative Developers to develop market data and order execution tools for systematic trading and monitoring
• Develop high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Make suggestions and implement enhancements to streamline existing workflows
• Responsible for developing and maintaining the in-house pre-trade analysis and risk management software.
• Develop front-to-back technology (UI to the server to integrate with MO)
• Contribute to the next generation of our trading system by green field development and refactoring of existing code bases with modern technologies
• Expect to spend 90% of time coding and working with traders.
• Comply with development standards and operating model for the team

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or related STEM field
• Intensely skilled/expert in modern Java programming
• Experience in Python, Docker, and NoSQL would be a plus
• Strong SQL/ NoSQL skills
• A solid understanding of good programming practices is required (e.g. TDD, design patterns).
• A track record of delivering high-quality code
• Demonstrate excellent communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work in pressured environment and deliver given real-world business constraints
• Experience in developing electronic trading/order management and/or real-time systems is desirable.
• Experience in Finance/Investment Banking would be highly advantageous
• Experience with convertible bonds, equities, and credit markets is desirable but not required.
• Drive to take product ownership and ability to work independently
• Enthusiasm to rapidly learn new technologies and skills

Average Salary: HK$1,600,000
