Job Description
General IT Infrastructure Systems Administration work focuses on the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems software and hardware for multi-user server computers and/or personal computing devices, including Meeting end-user needs by ensuring the uptime, performance, resource availability, and security of the computers managed within established budgets and operational guidelines.
Acquiring, installing, and upgrading computer components and software and planning for/responding to service outages and other problems.
Automating routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex systems software configuration and enhancement. An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of a job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area by explaining facts, policies, and practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing technical support to end users regarding computer problems, such as identifying the source of the problem and recommending solutions
- Designing and implementing new computer systems and networks, including creating detailed blueprints of existing systems for future reference
- Providing technical support for computer applications and operating systems used by the organization
- Installing new software or making changes to existing software based on client requests or company policies
- Developing new computer applications based on user needs and specifications
- Performing regular maintenance on servers and other equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Helping clients with technical issues related to their computer usage, including installing new software or upgrading existing software
- Ensuring that computer networks are secure by monitoring activity and performing checks for intrusions or viruses
- Installing and troubleshooting network servers, hardware, software, and peripherals
Average Salary: €23,700
