About the Position
Success Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join its network of 47 high-performing charter schools in New York City. As a Music Teacher at Success Academy, you will be an integral part of a dynamic and creative environment where you will help students develop a love for music through inspiring lessons and performances.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to guide young musicians, cultivate their musical talents, and contribute to the production of top-notch concerts.
Key Responsibilities

Foster a love for music in students by teaching music theory, performance, and musical history.

Build a classroom culture that inspires students to create, connect, perform, and respond to artistic works.

Collaborate with other music teachers across the network to build a strong, cohesive music program.

Plan and produce musical concerts that showcase students’ skills.

Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.

Collaborate with parents and fellow educators to foster the academic and artistic development of students.
Qualifications and Requirements

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or an equivalent is required by Spring.

Experience: At least 3 years of teaching experience with a proven ability to engage students in music through performance, creation, and participation.

Skills:

Strong understanding of music materials, techniques, and resources for student learning.

Ability to lead students in a variety of musical activities, including band, choir, and orchestra.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Leadership experience, either through music, extracurricular activities, or team involvement.

Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Salary: $44,269 – $72,689 per year (average salary: $56,533).
