Start times and entry information
The End-of-Year Examination Period is two weeks in duration. Most examinations will start at 9.30 am, 2.30 pm, or 6:30 pm. You may not enter an examination room later than 45 minutes after the start of the examination.
No alternative sitting will be available if you miss your exam or arrive 45 minutes or later after the official start time of your examination. An exception is if you have valid grounds covered under regulations for Special Consideration.
Dates
2024 Mid-year Examination Period: Monday 13 June to Saturday 25 June inclusive. There are no exams on Friday 24 June which is a public holiday. End-of-year Examination Period: Monday 31 October to Saturday 12 November inclusive. There are no exams on Sundays, or Friday 11 November, a regional holiday.

- Date, time, and duration
- Format of the exam (on-campus/online invigilated / online not supervised)
- Venue
- Exam conditions
- Location (for students living overseas)
On-campus examinations: Students are expected to be available to sit their exams on-campus, at the dates/times scheduled unless there are reasons outside of your control, e.g., students approved to study their whole semester from overseas or students enrolled in (D) courses who do not live within 90 minutes drive of Christchurch. If your exam is scheduled on-campus and you cannot do so, you must contact the Examinations Office at least one month before the examination period.
Online invigilated/supervised on Zoom or using Respondus Lockdown Browser & Monitor: If you are using Respondus, you need to download this onto your computer and complete the Practice Quiz at least one week before your exam. If you are using Zoom, you need to download this onto your computer and ensure it is working at least one week before your exam.

Results
Results for most undergraduate Semester 1 courses will be released on Friday, 8 July. Results will start at noon, and we expect all results to be released to students by Friday at 2 pm. You can access mid-year results by logging into MyUC login (UC Student Website) and selecting the link “Internal transcript and results.”

The Library receives copies of these from the Examinations Office, which are then made available via this search (NB: there can be delays with this process, exam papers will not appear in this search until some time after the exam has finished). Department-administered term tests, Foundation Studies tests and exams, and Summer school exams are not included in the exam papers search.
