Job Description.

Providing housekeeping service creates a clean and orderly environment for our families and staff that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation. This role requires working in collaboration with others and taking responsibility for working in line with regulatory requirements and BH policies and procedures.

Responsibilities.

  • Keep the Nursery a clean and safe environment for the children, staff, and families.
  • Encourage and model appropriate behavior in a child’s environment, being professional at all times, and adhering to our Heart Principles.
  • To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene of the children’s bathroom and nappy change areas throughout the day.
  • To carry out daily laundry duties as required.
  • Respond appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality: for example, being aware of personal information regarding children.
  • Support, promote and implement policies and procedures.
  • Work in co-operation and partnership with the Nursery team, providing high standards of cleaning to ensure the smooth running of the nursery day.
  • Be prepared to help where needed, including undertaking certain domestic tasks within the nursery, e.g., supporting over meal times and cleaning equipment.
  • Ensuring products and materials are appropriate for a nursery environment and stored and used in line with COSHH guidelines.
  • To take reasonable care of yourself and others and comply with company Health and Safety guidelines while understanding the importance of keeping everyone safe and the part you play.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach using your initiative and showing resilience to take responsibility for getting things done.

Requirements.

  • Experience working in the cleaning industry.
  • Experience in using cleaning products and equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements.

Skills.

  • Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children; for example, you must be able to summon emergency help and understand instructions to ensure our compliance with paragraph 3.26 of the EYFS.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • High standards of cleanliness and hygiene practices.

Salary: £10.36 – £10.68 per hour.
