Salary Range: $30.74 – $35.07 CAD per hour
Work Arrangement: In-person or hybrid (after 3 months)

Position Overview:

The Learner Support Assistant acts as the first point of contact for student inquiries at Okanagan College, delivering accurate, helpful, and student-centered services through in-person, virtual, phone, and email channels. The position supports learners by assisting with tasks such as admissions, registration, financial aid, digital tools, technical support, and more.


Key Responsibilities:

 Learner & Student Services:

  • Welcome and support students, staff, and the public.

  • Answer inquiries about admissions, financial aid, student life, records, library, etc.

  • Guide users through student portals and digital platforms.

  • Ensure privacy compliance and sensitive record handling.

 On-Campus/Facility Support:

  • Help manage study rooms, student card/laptop distribution.

  • Monitor learning spaces and troubleshoot basic tech issues (e.g., printers, computers).

  • Occasionally oversee student workers.

 Advanced Registrarial Tasks:

  • Handle student record updates, registrations, withdrawals.

  • Print and distribute official documents (transcripts, enrollment letters).

  • Process payments and perform cashier/banking reconciliations.

  • Investigate registration or account issues.

 Knowledge Management & Improvement:

  • Update chatbot responses and digital knowledge base tools.

  • Track service usage data and offer feedback on student services.

  • Participate in continuous improvement discussions with supervisors.
