Job Description.
Electrical engineers design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture of electrical equipment, such as electric motors, radar and navigation systems, communications systems, or power generation equipment. Electrical engineers also design the electrical systems of automobiles and aircraft.
Electrical engineering is one of the newer branches of engineering and dates back to the late 19th century. It is the branch of engineering that deals with the technology of electricity. Electrical engineers work on various components, devices, and systems, from tiny microchips to huge power station generators.
Within the project team, you will support the optimal electrical integration of our products in customer vehicles. You will participate in development programs working hand in hand with the team in France and the different R&D centers of our eMobility Division all around the world.
The role is based at our Montrottier plant (less than an hour away from Lyon), but some travel might be required. Remote work is possible.
Responsibilities.
- Responsible for the design of all electrical components with our DCDC product line, including wiring harnesses, busbars, fuse protection, signal, and power interconnections.
- Conduct all necessary analyses and simulations in supporting the proposed system architectures.
- Design, prototype, and test verification for all electrical functions across the V-cycle.
- Work with cross-functional teams for functional safety, thermal, packaging, EMC, DFMEA, and DFA/DFM.
- Support product development teams from concept to production, including Design proposal, multiple stages of Design review, test plan, test Design, and test review.
- Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with key customers and vendors.
Requirements.
- Bachelor’s or master’s in electrical or Mechatronic engineering.
- Five +years’ experience in Electrical/ hardware – power electronics/inverters and battery systems for industrial or aerospace, battery electric, and hybrid electric vehicle systems.
- Five +years’ experience in Electrical/ hardware – power electronics/inverters and battery systems for industrial or aerospace, battery electric, and hybrid electric vehicle systems.
- Expertise in the design of vehicle LV and HV power systems and components, including wire harnesses and protection.
- Knowledge using DFSS and DFx practices: Manufacturing, Test, Repair, Quality, etc.
- Hands-on experience in building and testing circuits.
- Expert knowledge of standard CAD and CAE tools.
- Familiar with electric vehicle standards and regulations, including ISO26262 functional safety and
- CISPR EMC, and familiar with the automotive Product Development Process (PDP).
- Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills.
- Able to debug system integration issues.
- Able to work individually and in a multidisciplinary team.
- Innovative thinker and problem solver.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good communicator.
- Flexible and adaptable.
Salary: The average salary for an Electrical Engineer in France is €42197.
