Responsibilities.
- Fill in new medication orders, refills, and renewals for Pharmacy clients.
- Credit client medications that are not picked up within ten days
- Restock pharmacy shelves when medicines are received from the wholesaler
- Check for outdated medicines every month (30 days)
- Prepares prescriptions for the pharmacist to check
- Prepare any packages that will be mailed to patients.
- Assist pharmacists in training new pharmacy technicians and cross-training other technicians
- Make recommendations to the pharmacist regarding methods and or procedures that can be improved.
- Ability to help others whenever and wherever there is a backlog

- Must be flexible and be able to work different schedules to meet client and pharmacy needs
- Possess thorough knowledge of the Pharmacy Technician duties and scopes of responsibility

• Is knowledgeable and efficient with calculations necessary in compounding.

• Compounds and handles hazardous medications by established guidelines and regulations.
• Answers phones in a courteous and timely manner.
• Attends to customers promptly.

• Reorders as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies.

• High School Diploma / GED (or higher) or equivalent work experience.
• Registered with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.
• Proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications.
• Experience with aseptic technique.
