Job Overview:
Wema Bank Plc is hiring an experienced and strategic Head of Software Quality Assurance (QA) to lead the QA team in delivering secure, high-performance banking applications that support its digital transformation agenda. This leader will establish robust testing standards and practices across all platforms, ensuring compliance and consistent quality.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the QA team to deliver high-quality, secure, and reliable digital and core banking applications.

Define and implement an enterprise-wide software QA framework, ensuring alignment with banking and industry standards.

Create and monitor test strategies, KPIs, plans, and test automation frameworks.

Collaborate closely with Product, Development, DevOps, and InfoSec teams for seamless quality ownership.

Oversee all testing phases – UAT, SIT, regression, performance, and security.

Promote test automation and CI/CD pipelines within Agile/DevOps workflows.

Ensure compliance with CBN, NDPR, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and other regulatory guidelines.

Manage relationships with third-party testing vendors and partners.

Provide regular reports to executive stakeholders, highlighting quality metrics, risks, and areas for improvement.
Requirements:

Education: BSc or HND in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master’s or professional certifications like ISTQB, CSTE, PMP, Agile, etc., are added advantages).

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years in Software Quality Assurance.

At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial QA role.

Skills & Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of banking systems, APIs, mobile and web platforms.

Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, Postman).

Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
