Position Overview:
The Learner Support Assistant acts as the first point of contact for student inquiries at Okanagan College, delivering accurate, helpful, and student-centered services through in-person, virtual, phone, and email channels. The position supports learners by assisting with tasks such as admissions, registration, financial aid, digital tools, technical support, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
Learner & Student Services:

Welcome and support students, staff, and the public.

Answer inquiries about admissions, financial aid, student life, records, library, etc.

Guide users through student portals and digital platforms.

Ensure privacy compliance and sensitive record handling.
On-Campus/Facility Support:

Help manage study rooms, student card/laptop distribution.

Monitor learning spaces and troubleshoot basic tech issues (e.g., printers, computers).

Occasionally oversee student workers.
Advanced Registrarial Tasks:

Handle student record updates, registrations, withdrawals.

Print and distribute official documents (transcripts, enrollment letters).

Process payments and perform cashier/banking reconciliations.

Investigate registration or account issues.
Knowledge Management & Improvement:

Update chatbot responses and digital knowledge base tools.

Track service usage data and offer feedback on student services.

Participate in continuous improvement discussions with supervisors.
