The Corporate Logistics Team plan, moves,s and control the flow of goods from the point of origin to the end of consumption across all divisions, markets, and brands within Alshaya.
Working closely with brand teams to ensure appropriate stock and delivery to the store, the group manages a range of complex and diverse activities, including shipping, freight, warehouse operations, customs clearance (inbound and outbound), compliance, and project management.
The Role
You will supervise a team of Warehouse Operatives overseeing the receiving, binning, picking, and dispatching of merchandise in the warehouse and ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently and by security and safety regulations and that any issues with employees are escalated to the Warehouse Manager.
Key Performance Area
- Understanding business requirements and developing new reports enables better planning and operational performance.
- Maintaining and ensuring all existing reports and data are accurate and available on time.
- Supporting the Helpdesk team to issue reports on time, resolving any formula or performance issues as they occur.
- Manage a contact center, including monitoring calls and ensuring KPIs are met.
- Manage a team, including workload, motivation, training, and appraisals
- Motivate own team to increase productivity
- Ensure transparent communication
- Handle store complaints and escalate issues to the Line Manager as and when necessary
- Ensure Supervision and Leadership of the team
- Inform/guide Employees on performance and company policies and procedures.
- Appraise Employees and monitor performance against set goals. Identify development needs and the potential to assign appropriate job functions to develop them.
- Follow up on Employee welfare issues.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a warehouse or distribution center.
- English language skills
- Advanced Excel
- Bachelor’s degree / University degree.
- Self-motivated and flexible working hours
- Call center experience will be an added advantage
