Medical Records Specialist (Remote)

A recognized health services network in Arkansas is currently seeking a new Medical Records Specialist to join their staff in a Remote capacity. In this role, the Medical Records Specialist will be responsible for focusing on duplicate records identification and merging.

Responsibilities:

The Medical Records Specialist will:

  • Conduct double number verifications and merges
  • Identify corrective measures to reduce the occurrence of duplicate medical record numbers, including proposing system enhancements for ongoing efficiency improvements
  • Assign new medical record numbers within the Epic system and inputs patient demographic details as needed
  • Research patient identities and histories; execute record merging processes
  • Utilize Epic software effectively.
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Epic software
  • Experience in matching and merging duplicate records
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in Medical terminology
  • Prior experience in Health Information Management (HIM)
  • Experience with Patient Registration processes.
